Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S25 series is expected to launch next year, likely in January, following its typical release pattern. Initially, it was believed the series would use Exynos chips exclusively, but a new report suggests that all Galaxy S25 models will instead feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset globally.
A report from Hankyung further confirms that all models in the Galaxy S25 lineup — including the base Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra — will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset worldwide. This will be the “Galaxy” version of the chipset, continuing Samsung’s trend from previous years. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is expected to debut in October and will power a wide range of smartphones across different brands.
Meanwhile, Samsung is reportedly planning to use its in-house Exynos 2500 chipset for the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 foldable smartphones, which are anticipated to launch in July next year. If this plan goes ahead, it would mark the first time Samsung’s foldable devices are released without a Snapdragon chipset.
