Last week, at the Made by Google event, Google introduced four new smartphones, including the second-generation foldable, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. We’ve already covered the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL, highlighting the updates these non-foldable models brought. Now, Google has revamped the Fold, also adding the series number to its name. Let’s dive into the details of this foldable phone.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is now taller, slimmer, and 26 grams lighter than its predecessor, the Pixel Fold. When unfolded, its dimensions are 155.2 x 150.2 x 5.1 mm, compared to the previous 139.7 x 158.7 x 5.8 mm. When folded, it measures 155.2 x 77.1 x 10.5 mm, down from 139.7 x 79.5 x 12.1 mm. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold features an 8-inch square-like internal foldable display and a 6.4-inch external cover display.

This setup features one prime Cortex-X4 core clocked at up to 3.1GHz, three Cortex-A720 cores at up to 2.6GHz, and four Cortex-A520 cores at up to 1.95GHz. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold comes in two variants: 16GB RAM with either 256GB or 512GB of storage.

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold now features a dual-level, vertical rear camera setup, including a 48MP main camera, a 10.8MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, and a 10.5MP ultrawide camera. Both the cover and internal displays share the same 10MP selfie camera.

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is equipped with a 4,650mAh battery that supports 45W wired charging and wireless charging. It will launch with Android 14 and AI features like Gemini, Pixel Screenshots, Add Me, and more. Plus, it will receive 7 years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates.

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be available in Obsidian and Porcelain colors, starting at INR 1,72,999 in India. You can purchase it online on Flipkart or offline at Croma and Reliance Digital. While the exact availability date hasn’t been confirmed yet, it’s expected to launch in early September.
