Google’s Pixel 9 series has officially launched in India, bringing the latest smartphones to the market. In this article, we’ll explore the three models: Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL. Let’s dive into the full specifications.

The standard Pixel 9 features a 6.3-inch FHD+ OLED Actua display with a 60Hz to 120Hz refresh rate, offering 2700 nits peak brightness, an improvement from the 2000 nits on the Pixel 8. The Pixel 9 Pro also has a 6.3-inch screen, while the Pixel 9 Pro XL comes with a larger 6.8-inch display. Both Pro models use Super Actua LTPO displays with a 1-120Hz refresh rate and 3000 nits peak brightness. All three phones are protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and now include a fast ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, replacing the older optical scanners.

Pixel 9 series launches in India

The Pixel 9 series is powered by the new Tensor G4 chipset, built on a 4nm process, and includes the Titan M2 security coprocessor. This setup features one prime Cortex-X4 core running at up to 3.1GHz, three Cortex-A720 cores at up to 2.6GHz, and four Cortex-A520 cores at up to 1.95GHz. The Pixel 9 comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, while the Pixel 9 Pro offers 16GB of RAM with 256GB of storage. The Pixel 9 Pro XL is available with either 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage or a larger 512GB option.

The Pixel 9 features a dual-camera setup with a wide and ultra-wide lens, while the Pro models add a periscope telephoto lens. All models come with a 50MP 1/1.31″ wide-angle main camera and a 48MP 1/2.55″ ultra-wide camera. The Pro models include an additional 48MP 1/2.55″ periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. The Pixel 9 has a 10.5MP selfie camera, while the Pro models are upgraded with 42MP selfie cameras.

When it comes to battery life, the Pixel 9 now has a slightly larger 4700 mAh battery, up from 4575 mAh in the Pixel 8. The Pixel 9 Pro also has a 4700 mAh battery, while the Pixel 9 Pro XL is equipped with a 5060 mAh battery. All models support 45W wired charging, wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging.

All Google Pixel 9 series phones will receive seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates. They launch with Android 14, with Android 15 expected in a few months—Pixel 9 series will be the first to get it. The phones come packed with numerous AI features, including some new additions.

The Pixel 9 is available in Peony, Wintergreen, Porcelain, and Obsidian colors, with a single 12GB/256GB option starting at INR 79,999. The Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL come in Porcelain, Rose Quartz, Hazel, and Obsidian. The Pixel 9 Pro, with 16GB/256GB, is priced at INR 1,09,999, while the Pro XL offers two variants—16GB/256GB and 16GB/512GB—starting at INR 1,24,999. Pre-orders for the Pixel 9 and Pro XL are live, with the Pixel 9 Pro available in September. These phones will be sold online via Flipkart and offline at Reliance Digital and Croma stores.
