A Bloomberg report confirms that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be manufactured in India at Foxconn’s facility in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, just weeks after their launch. This marks the first time Apple will produce its Pro series outside of China, with these models being made in India.

Bloomberg also highlights that Appleā€™s other partners in India, including Pegatron and the Tata Group, might also start producing the Pro models. Additionally, Apple is expected to launch the standard iPhone 16 in India on the same day as its global release. Sources indicate that Apple may exclusively begin iPhone 17 production in India as well.

Apple began assembling iPhones in India in 2017, and reports suggest that the company assembled $14 billion worth of iPhones in FY24, accounting for 14% of global iPhone production. Apple aims to further increase this growth in the coming years.
